Delete Your Ama Jatra Account

This page explains how to request deletion of your Ama Jatra account and the data associated with it, as required for our listing on the Google Play Store.

How to Request Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your Ama Jatra account and data using either of the following methods:

  1. In the Ama Jatra app: Open the app and sign in, go to Profile → Settings, scroll to the Account section, tap Delete Account, and confirm the request.
  2. By email: Send an account deletion request from your registered email address to our support team with the subject line "Delete My Account", including your registered mobile number for verification.

We verify your identity before processing the request and complete account deletion within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been deleted.

Data That Is Deleted

Once your deletion request is processed, the following data is permanently removed from our active systems:

  • Your name, email address, and mobile number
  • Your login credentials and OTP/authentication data
  • Saved profile details (avatar, preferences, notification settings)
  • Saved payment methods on file (card/UPI tokens)
  • Your notification history and in-app activity

Data That Is Retained

Some data cannot be deleted immediately and is retained for a limited period as described below:

Booking & transaction records

Confirmed ticket bookings, payment references, and invoices are retained for 3 years after account deletion to comply with tax, accounting, and consumer-protection law, and to handle disputes or refund claims. This data is disassociated from your profile wherever possible.

Fraud & abuse logs

Records required to prevent fraud, chargebacks, or abuse of the platform (e.g. device/IP logs tied to a transaction) may be retained for up to 1 year after account deletion.

Legal obligations

Any data we are legally required to retain (e.g. under tax or law-enforcement requests) is kept only for as long as required by applicable law.
